Chen Qi Participates in CWP2025 Roundtable : Charting New Pathways for Global Wind Power Collaboration

Time:2025-10-27 Number:0 From:Windey

Beijing, October 20 – The Beijing International Wind Energy Congress & Exhibition (CWP 2025) opened ceremoniously. During the roundtable dialogue titled "Accelerating Global Wind Power Investment to Drive Sustainable Development," Mr. Chen Qi, Chairman of the Board of Windey Energy Technology Group Co., Ltd., was invited to participate. He engaged in in-depth discussions with global wind power policymakers, industry leaders, and financial institution representatives, systematically presenting his insights and strategic recommendations on key issues including the implementation of China's wind power goals and global collaborative development.

China's Goals: Opportunities for Large-Scale Development Coexist with Systemic Integration Challenges

In response to China's target of achieving 3,600 GW of total installed capacity for wind and solar power by 2035, Chen Qi highlighted that, as of August 2025, China's cumulative installed capacity for wind and photovoltaic power had exceeded 1,700 GW , including 580GW from wind power and 1,120 GW from solar PV. The share of clean energy in total installed capacity surpassed 50%, and its contribution to electricity generation exceeded 25%, marking a new phase in China's energy structure transition.

He stated that the next decade is critical for achieving these goals, requiring a doubling of installed wind and solar capacity , which is projected to account for over 65% of the total installed capacity. With the full participation of renewable energy in the power market, wind power is expected to maintain an average annual new installed capacity of 100 to 150 GW due to its output stability advantages, ushering in a high-quality development window for the industry.

Chen Qi also pointed out that the current development of renewable energy faces regional structural challenges. The curtailment rates of wind power have rebounded in some western regions, while the utilization rates in southeastern coastal areas are nearing saturation. He emphasized the need to accelerate the R&D of grid-forming technologies and business model innovations such as "Direct Green Power Supply" to effectively address the bottleneck in renewable energy integration. "The grid is no longer the sole consumer of renewable energy. The industry should actively explore direct energy supply collaborations with emerging loads such as high-energy-consuming enterprises and intelligent computing centers, expanding diversified application scenarios for green power."

Global Synergy and Innovation: Building an Open and Integrated Industrial Ecosystem

When discussing global wind power development pathways, Chen Qi analyzed that the international wind power market is showing a diversified development pattern. The European and American markets maintain characteristics of high electricity prices and long development cycles, while international projects adopting Chinese technology and management models, such as those in Saudi Arabia , demonstrate outstanding LCOE and efficiency advantages.

He emphasized that in the face of global energy transition opportunities, China's wind power industry needs to deepen global collaboration in three key areas:

First, promoting technological integration and innovation: Focus on breakthroughs in key technologies for far-sea offshore wind power, advance the integrated innovation of "wind-solar-storage-hydrogen-methanol" systems and enhance the overall efficiency of the energy system;

Second, facilitating international mutual recognition of standards: Leverage platforms like the IEC to establish demonstration projects in key markets such as Southeast Asia and the Middle East, and promote standard alignment with international certification bodies like TÜV and UL;

Third, building a collaborative development mechanism: Deepen Sino-European green supply chain cooperation , and establish an open and transparent global energy governance system to provide systematic support for global emission reduction goals.

Chen Qi further pointed out that China's installed wind power capacity now accounts for 45.8% of the global total, with Chinese wind turbine manufacturers occupying the top four spots globally, and the localization rate of core components exceeding 85%. China's wind power industry is evolving from technology export to standards and model export, providing systematic solutions to address electricity shortages in regions like Southeast Asia, while promoting mutual recognition of technical standards with European and American markets to build an integrated and win-win global wind power ecosystem. He stated that Windey will continue to focus on the integrated innovation of "Wind Power + Green Energy," leveraging cutting-edge technology and open collaboration to drive global energy transition, contribute Chinese wisdom to addressing climate change , and inject stable and robust momentum into global sustainable development.
